    Wyeast cell count

Pretty much every opinion I read states that starters are always recommended. Many say they're necessary to achieve proper fermentation quick enough on beers 1.060 OG and higher. Knowing this, why doesn't Wyeast or White Labs put more than 100 billion cells in their packages?

pin lock vs ball lock o rings

Is there a difference in o ring size between pin lock and ball lock kegs? Some websites have replacement kits that don't specify a style, while other websites specify the style keg they are for. Thanks!

What would be the result of...

Estimated FG is 1.014-1.018...I assume thats based on the volume of fermentables added on brew day.

What would be the result of...

Bottling a beer stuck at 1.022 that was expected to ferment to 1.014-1.018? Obviously taste a little different, but would it taste bad? Do you suggest pitching more yeast? If so what kind? I've read that Notty sprinkled on top will sometimes work. I do not have a yeast cake available to...

I am potentially in a similar situation. Under what circumstances is it acceptable to pitch another batch of yeast?

HELP FAST wyeast propagator w/ dry yeast

HELP FAST wyeast propagator w/ dry yeast

Thanks so much for the reply. I ended up using both yeasts. I'm going to watch the gravity closely...if it stalls I'll be sure to pitch either another pack of dry yeast or a wyeast activator asap. Wish me luck...its my first bigger beer.

HELP FAST wyeast propagator w/ dry yeast

So I'm making Midwest Superior Strong Ale OG 1.063-1.067. I thought I ordered a wyeast activator smack pack, but they've sent me a Wyeast Propagator smack pack and 6 grams of Muntons dry yeast. Stupid me, I did not realize it was a propagator pack and I'm in the middle of my boil without...
