Madison area brewers, I'm moving to Sun Prairie and looking for tank refill suggestions in the area (brew clubs too!). I have two tanks and generally had them filled in Baraboo. I feel pretty stupid after reading this post because I think I've been drinking Co2 mixed for welding for years and...
Hello -
We are building a new house and my wife loves my vanilla porter...so I have a budget to spend on a brew room (I married well). Now I'm brewing with a Grainfather (version 1) but have the parts to move to a 20 gal e-system, which is what I'll be using in the new house. I have an...
Ok I listed the wrong yeast (but close). I used WLP 630. WLP630 Berliner Weisse Blend | White Labs
Same issue I’m guessing? Still too stressed?
So it’s a bad idea to ever try to harvest weizen yeast? Not impossible but not a good idea?
I harvested the yeast from a Berliner Weiss I brewed a few weeks ago (WPL 630). I’m going to use it to ferment a cider kit I’ve got.
See pics. Did I get too much trub in the starter? I shook up most of what you see in the picture.
If yes, recommendations?
Thanks
I just stumbled on your post now. I also brew in a detached building, but I haven’t finished the project yet really.
I’m curious about your water and drain lines. Did you just run them to/from the house?
Cool space! How’s it working out?
This is a great build, thanks for documenting and posting it. I too started with a new, blank slate (eight years ago).... but I got very busy with work and life so I bought a Grainfather and the project is still in the design phase. LOL. We’ve seen lots of innovation in the last few years...
Hello,
My home water is not conducive to brewing wheat beers. I balance it for others, but for wheat beers I use mostly distilled water and build it to the profile I want.
I'm going a quick extract brew this weekend.
My question - I want to get as close to Weihenstephan as possible. Should I...
Hello -
I'm finished with my keggle mash tun build - just have a question about brewing with it.
I've got a false bottom and drain tube attached to the ball-valve.
Will this thing gravity feed or do I need to pump it out? I planned on buying a pump, but that gets into the bigger...
Yuri - great point.
Yes, sawdust might be a problem, but I plan to control it as much as possible by either a) doing 'serious' sanding in an adjacent large area of the building and/or b) using dust collection equipment and/or c) having brew equipment either covered or behind closed, sealed...
