I have a theory that I'm going to start to play around with. We all know there's hydrostatic pressure created by the sheer volume of liquid in a large commercial fermenter.. I'm going to try to mimic that in my Fermzilla. I don't know how much pressure I need to add but maybe AI can figure it...
Sounds like you made yourself a brite tank. Which I'm kinda jealous of.
Most of us 'lager' and carbonate our beers in a keg at the same time. Mine go into the kegerator at 35 degrees on gas. Usually about a month in they've hit their stride.
Sounds like a recurring issue. Do you always get your ingredients from Morebeer? Obviously, if you source elsewhere and still have the issue, it ain't the crush. I've never had an issue with efficiency with Morebeer kits.
I used it for the first time on my last brew and I came in 8 points...
Welcome! Very ambitious first brew. Just remember, producing the wort is the easy part, but getting the fermentation right is going to determine if the beer is any good or not.
This is exactly what I use it for. I have one Flotit 2.0 and I use it in the fermenter. Doesn't matter what's in the bottom of the fermenter it's never been clogged. All my server kegs I use the standard floating dip tube with the ball and/or filter.
I have an EGO and really like it. Plenty of power to chop through thick St. Augustine grass blades. I think standard comes in a 2.5 amp hour battery but that won't do you any good for an acre property. A 5 amp battery would probably do the trick but it can make it heavy. It comes with a "weed...
I'd follow the recommended pitching instructions on the pack of yeast. Can't remember exactly what they say but 80% is more then enough in your case. Liquid yeast you probably want to build a starter or pitch multiple packs.
I've fermented at 80 under pressure and it turned out very well!
I just upgraded my brew system and did my first full volume mash, no sparge. I used an older recipe from a system where I batch sparged and I ended up overshooting my OG target by several points. I have the ability to recirc during mash, which helps with efficiency.
I actually need to adjust...
