    Spike Solo Owner's Thread

Almost sounds like without a neutral to the controller you will have unpredictable results. You will need neutral for proper 120 volts and the ground for obvious reasons. Spike will tell you you need to run 4-wire for this setup. EDIT: I didn't read everything here. If you ran 10/3 with a...

    London Ale 3 Question

Didn't think of it that way. Good to know. When pitching Saturday I thought I broke the pouch inside before I pitched but then realized it had not broke open after dumping in the yeast and screwed with trying to smack it after the main pouch was open and emptied. I hate screwing around like that...

    Help Finding Ball Lock Post

I am trying to replace my corny keg posts with the same size I currently have which require a 7/8" wrench. The only ones I'm finding are the smaller ones that take an 11/16" wrench, I know that either one will work but would like to stick with this one. Does anyone know where to find those? Thanks

    Silicone Spray on Keg Seals

Cool, thanks! I have Loctite Food Grade Silicone Lubricant. Sounds safe enough to try.

    Silicone Spray on Keg Seals

Is there any reason you couldn't use food grade silicone spray on your keg seals? I have always heard to use keg lube but I have the silicone on hand. Thanks!

    Total Alkalinity and Buffering Power

Great! Thank you. This is natural spring water I go up and get every few weeks for drinking and brewing. I am finally trying to make educated water adjustments instead if just guessing on them.

Need Advice on a 10 or 15 Gallon Spike Solo

I do a single infusion and batch sparge. I know you can do a full volume mash but I still like the idea of a rinse.

Need Advice on a 10 or 15 Gallon Spike Solo

I am currently brewing 5 or 5.5 gallon batches in an 8 gallon kettle on propane with no problems as long as I watch the hot break closely. So I'm not sure why a 10 gallon Spike Solo kettle wouldn't work but I keep seeing where if you are doing 5 1/2 gallon batches you should go with a 15 gallon...
