Hey just throwing an idea out there wondering if people have done this. Has anyone used two different strains in a single batch before?
Just wondering if you could try making a hybrid beer style using two or more strains. Hoping for some fun conversation on this

Hey not sure if I can get this stuff somewhere else but my home brew store doesn't have it. Can I substitute malto dextrin for it? Can I just add extra belgian candi sugar.
Did some research and it just looks like syrup.

That seems way more logical! Well thanks man that is helpful. Also should I be popping the nutrients in the wyeast pack to make the started?

Long story short.....
Making a delirium tremens that requires yeast at the start and a second yeast prior to bottling.
Can I
Open wyeast package without the nutrient and split it into two equal parts. One part made into a starter one part put into a sterile jar for use 17days later. Is this a...
No it was more of a thinking too much into it question. The bottles are sound but not sure if the bottles facilitated the style of beer. Like the wide bottom is too spaced out for the yeast to settle/cake together. I'm probably just thinking too much into it. Thanks for responding

Hey guys quick question might be dumb. I came across a bunch of stubby la chouffe bottles and I am planning on bottling a hefe in them. Think this will cause any problems? I know hefes are usually in tall bottles with long necks. Might just be paranoid.

Just a thought, could I make a larger priming solution and make up a bit of the missing water when it's prime time?

Hey I made a 5g recipe and for some reason missed about 2quarts of water. Pitched the yeast then realized it. Can I gently introduce some water to it it's 3hrs after. I am assuming the beer will be super concentrated. Hat should I look forward to getting if I use the 4.8gallons besides less...
Update
Originally the taste was sharp sour, it mutated to a smokey meat taste,
So after further research the taste was perhaps yeast bite a meaty/smokey taste. that dissipated with-in 1week. It's not great yet but it is making leaps in the right direction. I have heard similar complaints from...
Update on this one. Turns out it was the yeast I used not the hops. I did add too much hops but it wasn't that I was tasting as bitter. Did some research on Safbrew web-06 and I found that some people had that sour/meaty taste early on during the tastings. I have let it condition for 1.5weeks...
Hey I am having a similar issue after about 8days of waiting. I used Safbrew-06 dry yeast. I have been pretty diligent making sure to be sterile through out the whole. I get this sort of sour bite after about 2seconds in my mouth. I had it after 7days and i am hoping i have the same issue as...
