Massive gravity drop in 48 hours???

Brewing a malt extract APA. O.G. 10.063. 2 days later the Gravity has dropped to 10.020. Also, little to no signs of fermentation as of yet. I forgot to aerate the wort but thought the transfer from pot to FV would do the trick. any ideas??

    Wort cooling

Great. Yeah lowering frozen pet bottles sounds like a good idea. Do you do several at a time? Or one by one? how many do you think ole need?

So. 20 litre batch of APA. Partial mash (steeping grains and LME). I have no wort cooler and trying to think of another way to cool that quantity of boiling wort without having to take it upstairs to cool in bath. Suggestions?? Love to yall.

    2nd brew

After a successful 1st extract brew I'm stepping up to steeping grains extract brew. Gonna steep grains, 60 minute boil with LME and later will transfer to a second fermenter after primary fermentation has taken place. These are all corrections from the first batch which I beleive will vastly...

    2nd brew

What do you need for extract brewing other than a FV, airlock, stir pallet and some sanitizer?

    2nd brew

Brew with a LME kit is what I'm doing at the moment, surely a step behind extract. Although sounds like I should just go for extract brewing. Thanks for the help

    2nd brew

So I'v bottled up my first brew which is a youngs ipa coming in at Round 6.6%. Want to get another kit on the go but is there something that's a bit more challenging before moving on to extract brewing? Happy brewing!!

    Taste Test = HORRIBLE

Well it's a youngs kit. Process is add extract, mix with boiled water than top up with cold tap water. Keep at 20-24 (which is what my stick on thermometer says) than when Gravity is 1.010 or lower, dry hop for 3 days before bottling. It's a simple kit. Yeah I guess all I can do is wait and...

    Taste Test = HORRIBLE

Hi there, Day 11 into fermentation. Using a kit and 5 Gallon FV and keeping IPA brew between 20-24C. Took a gravity reading today and am at 1.011 (O.G. 1.056) so, as per instructions, time to add hops. HOWEVER!! Took a little taste and was suprised at how horrible it tastes at this stage...

    Dried krausen on lid!!

I'm just talking about the neck of the hydrometer where the scale is. Yeah the bulb is fine but if the neck is leaning obviously I'm gonna get an inaccurate reading.
