    I am fermenting a batch of Mr. Beer Amber Ale - published ABV of 5.9% I measured the OG before adding the yeast = 1.044 Now (17 days fermenting) = 1.023 1.044 - 1.023 = 0.021 * 100 = 2.1% Is this the correct way to determine ABV? If so... does 2.1% after 17 days sound right? As...

    Hi folks... Wondering if any of you have packed home brew (plastic 750ml bottles) in checked airline baggage. I checked with Alaska Airlines and they allow up to 5 liters in checked baggage. Has anyone done it and if so, how did you pack the bottles? Yeah, I know... a stupid question...
