    Brew Sour

I just had a thought... does Biofine Clear go bad? I've had it a good year and its gone through a winter in the garage so it likely froze some. Wondering if that may have contributed to this?

    Brew Sour

Thanks for the help. Will take some extra time to go over the equipment before the next brew. I had let it soak in PBW and everything. Oh well will see. Cheers!

    Brew Sour

I suppose there is no way to know what infected the beer (if that's the case) I'm usually pretty good at using StarSan...etc. Normally I do try and cool my wort down right away. This batch happened to be an exception to that. I left the lid on with the thought that this should keep...

    Brew Sour

Unfortunately I don't have the package anymore, however it would have been the dry yeast that came with the kit.

    Brew Sour

Hi there, Wondering if anyone has any comments on my latest brew. This was brewed from a BIAB kit labeled to make a "German Pilsner". The kit was a bit on the older side, had it sitting around for a bit. Anyway the brew process went fine as far as I could tell. I did leave the wort in the...

    Bad Beer?

Hey JonM, Thanks for the response. The beer is a Coopers European Lager (green tin) Tasting the beer I would say its sour no. Its not bitter either though. :) I don't find the taste particularly inspiring. Doesn't really make me want to consume it which is part of my basis of...

    Bad Beer?

Hey all, So I've brewed a fair amount of beer without any issues in terms of beer not turning out as beer... until now? I've so far just used kits of varying skills. This kit was one of the pretty basic ones. Just add water and maybe some sugar...etc and your done. Not at all complicated. In...

    Can I Keg my cider?

Hey Cyclman, Thanks for the reply. As far as I can tell it looks like FG has stayed the same. I will check again to be sure and if so then proceed to keg. Cheers!

    Can I Keg my cider?

Hi all, So this is still my first attempt at making cider from a kit. (Brewers Best Spiced Apple to be specific) The instructions that came with it basically say: 1. Ferment cider for 6 days (SG is 1.004 when finished) 2. Add some flavoring to it. Then bottle. (or I assume keg)...

    Cider Calls For 7.9G Fermenter

Hey all, Thanks for your prompt replies and suggestions. Sounds like I should be fine to continue on with using my carboy. I will see how things go and if it looks possible I'll top it off in the secondary some more. Cheers!

    Cider Calls For 7.9G Fermenter

Hey there, I have got one of those Cider house kits. I had not realized that the instructions call for a 7.9G fermenter. All I have are standard 5G carboys available. So my question: Is it ok for me to brew this in a smaller fermenter? I realize I will likely get less product but will it...

    Biofine Clear and Carbination

Thanks for the info. Thats probably the case given that it didn't arrive cold and says nothing about keeping it cold on it. I'll probably take it out of the fridge when I need some room. :) Cheers!

    Biofine Clear and Carbination

My Biofine didn't come seal/cooled so I never put it in the fridge. I have now put it in the fridge but I am not sure if that is required. Since adding to secondary after about an hour I could already see lots of sediment forming in the collection ball. Looking like its working quite well...

    Biofine Clear and Carbination

Great thanks for your/others help. I will try this way and see how it turns out. Cheers! :mug:

    Biofine Clear and Carbination

I think I'll try adding it the secondary and leavig it for a day or 2 before transfering to my keg. My secondary isnt in the coldest spot but I'll see how that goes. Figure Biofine Clear will continue to work in the keg (if more work is to done) once it gets cold anyhow. I assume there is no...
