I just got done doing the same thing. I received a keggle that already had a hole in the top but it was a little smaller than my immersion chiller. With a lot of patience I was able to use an angle grinder to make a hole that was bigger and even cleaner than the one that was there originally...
Thanks for the info guys! Since it seems like I won't get much use of the bugs with a beer already that high in alcohol I will probably just agitate and throw a heating blanket on it to see if that can finish it off. If not I might try some brett and a couple months of aging.
I started a quad a couple weeks ago that seems like it has stalled out. Its been stuck at about 1.050 for about a week now. I was going to try pitching some neutral yeast to get it going again but then i started thinking about the smack pack of roeselare i have in my fridge. Do you guys think...
It looks like you have the same ssr and heat sink that I have and that thing gets seriously hot when it is running full blast.
The stuff I used seems to stay pretty gooey so I don't think it would be too hard to pull the heat sink off the ssr but I'm not sure all thermal compounds are the same.
I guess I should add a little detail about my build too, I took ideas from a bunch of different builds already out there so there isn't anything too ground breaking.

Here is my build, I'll put up some more pictures and some of the parts I used when I get home from...
That sounds pretty much like the system I just got done building. I used this diagram from P-J, you would just need to add a timer to it. As for having an extra pump, I only have one right now and it is working out for me but it would be nice to have another one so that I could start fly sparging.
Hey guys,
I just got done setting up my new e-System this weekend and then quickly brewed up three batches to try and re-fill the pipeline :mug:
Here's a quick pic from testing out the elements in the HLT and the BK.
I owe a lot to everyone else on this board posting their builds. My build...
