    Heat wave!

How do you deal with smacking your yeast when the package is swollen? Do you guys just not bother and make the starter with out smacking?

    Want my keggle openings larger

I just got done doing the same thing. I received a keggle that already had a hole in the top but it was a little smaller than my immersion chiller. With a lot of patience I was able to use an angle grinder to make a hole that was bigger and even cleaner than the one that was there originally...

    Sour quad?

Thanks for the info guys! Since it seems like I won't get much use of the bugs with a beer already that high in alcohol I will probably just agitate and throw a heating blanket on it to see if that can finish it off. If not I might try some brett and a couple months of aging.

    Sour quad?

I started a quad a couple weeks ago that seems like it has stalled out. Its been stuck at about 1.050 for about a week now. I was going to try pitching some neutral yeast to get it going again but then i started thinking about the smack pack of roeselare i have in my fridge. Do you guys think...

    KPR121's 220v HERMS eBrewery Build

It looks like you have the same ssr and heat sink that I have and that thing gets seriously hot when it is running full blast. The stuff I used seems to stay pretty gooey so I don't think it would be too hard to pull the heat sink off the ssr but I'm not sure all thermal compounds are the same.

    KPR121's 220v HERMS eBrewery Build

Those push in connectors look nice. Are you thinking about putting a cooling fan in your control box?

Opinions Needed On My Electric Brewery Plans

I do have the full sized one but I think it is on my computer at home. I just finished building mine this weekend. I'm not sure how much it cost me in total but I tried to keep it pretty cheap. Here is my build, I'll put up some more pictures and some of the parts I used when I get home from...

Opinions Needed On My Electric Brewery Plans

That sounds pretty much like the system I just got done building. I used this diagram from P-J, you would just need to add a timer to it. As for having an extra pump, I only have one right now and it is working out for me but it would be nice to have another one so that I could start fly sparging.

    New e-Setup and some questions

Hey guys, I just got done setting up my new e-System this weekend and then quickly brewed up three batches to try and re-fill the pipeline :mug: Here's a quick pic from testing out the elements in the HLT and the BK. I owe a lot to everyone else on this board posting their builds. My build...

Trying to make a Goose Island Lolita Clone

I felt like this beer was very sour for just having brett. I would guess that it picked up some other bugs in the barrel.
