I wonder at what temperature they fermented. I am curious about this potential change as well. Having just sampled from the fermentor a (not sure what category you'd call it) Belgian spelt table beer with WY3522, I am very pleased at the restrained yeast character.
I have experienced this...
I'd be curious if anyone can comment if these are wider than standard ball locks. I was thinking of picking up the 7.1 cu ft Danby freezer from Costco soon and would eventually want to fit some of these in it.
Not a particular place, but I'd find myself some Augustiner hefeweizen. Can't get it outside Munich/Germany if I'm not mistaken. And it's mighty tasty.
Yup. Mine cracked the other day while I was cleaning it in the utility sink. Guess there is no magic fermentation vessel. They all have their cracks...I mean faults.
A SS Brew Bucket is looking better and better. Don't think they'll fit in the mini fridge though.
Do you keg everything? What about getting a dual stage temp controller for it and keeping it for bottle storage, i.e. keep it at 70 to bottle condition or at 55 for long term storage.
Thanks for posting this. I have been going back and forth about which kettle to upgrade to for months as well and was holding out for some feedback on these SS Brew ones.
EDIT: Also, how about an update on how the trub dam works on your next higher hopped beer?
