It’s been a few years since I have been on this Forum. I am always looking to brew something different or out of the ordinary. I recently came across a brewery from my hometown that brewed a cotton candy ale. I love cotton candy and I love beer so why not put them together right? Just wondering...

    Fruit Beer Bottle Conditioning

the carbonation seems ok the beer doesn't taste flat but the flavor of the beer just doesn't seem to be there yet. They were bottled after 5 days in the secondary at 60 and then put in the fridge at 38 which is where they have been for 3 weeks now.

    New to kegging

Ok so I have just recently within the past month starting kegging beer and I have an octoberfest and red IPA on tap that has been outstanding. Just recently I brewed a winter lager that I have to put in the same fridge I use for my kegs. With that being said the kegs got moved around a bit and...

    Fruit Fly in Secondary

Thanks for the input I will shorten the time in the secondary and bottle quicker and hopefully everything will turn out ok and I hope so because I think this has the potential to be a great tasting pumpkin ale and should come out to about 8.5%

    Fruit Fly in Secondary

I have read all over the place about different instances of fruit flies in and around their beer. I have just recently had an issue with some in my airlock on a red ale but nothing in the actual beer. I just racked a pumpkin ale into a secondary just the other day and now i see one of them...

    Lager Fermentation

Ok so i opened the primary and took a reading and it looked like there was a small krausen being formed and the reading came out at 1.052 from a OG of 1.057 and this is at 72 hours. So i guess there is work being done and my inexperience with lagers and impatience just had me freaking out. I...

    Lager Fermentation

yeah I am still a rookie I guess I am so used to seeing the airlock go nuts with ales. I will take a reading later and see what the gravity is. Are you saying I may not see any air bubbles at all through the whole period?

    Lager Fermentation

So this is my second attempt at an all-grain oktoberfest. The first didn't go so well but I learned from my mistakes and tried again and the second time the process went much better. Color and everything looks good and beersmith called for a original gravity of 1.058 and I hit 1.057 so far so...
