    Would you use this bucket?

But not that their product didn't contaminate the bucket. But to be honest it was probably a decision based on what buckets were available at what price, including things like freight charges, were available when they needed them.

    Would you use this bucket?

I'm not sure why all the debate. As a public forum I'm surprised the 'powers that be' haven't shut this down. Discussing anything that isn't properly rated is kinda pointless here. What's the point? It hasn't killed you within 6 months so that's good enough?

    Would you use this bucket?

Years back someone on this site that claimed they worked in a bucket factory said that non-food grade buckets used a 'nasty' chemical as a mold release agent. So the same two buckets from the same factory could be, or not be, food grade just based on the release agent. I don't remember them...

Also. The induction unit performed pretty much as expected. It has a timer which was a nice feature. The display goes back and forth between the count down timer and the wattage setting. This thing pretty much 'crushed it' on a five gallon batch. I'll probably want to move up to 10 once I...

Put the GFCI in. What a pain. It's longer than other breakers. Some interference with the neutral buss bar. I had to move a wire and take the lugs out of some other spots to lower the profile where the breaker went. For a bit I was afraid I'd have to move the wire to the sub panel. But...

starter using wort from the boil

There was someone that used to use the wort from his current batch. He called that the 'real wort starter'. I believe the username was something like The Pol? He did no-chill. @Yooper may have bought his equipment? Long time back. I can't find anything now. Searches only go back to around...

starter using wort from the boil

Has the concept of proper pitching rates died since last I visited?

    Bringing 3.2% beer back!

Does this count as 'bringing it back'? ;) I found half case of these. I moved about 4 years ago. This has been sitting under some stuff. I opened one warm and gave it a sniff. I went upstairs for a glass and when I came back it had gushed a little. Not much though. About the only thing...

I hope you're right. I heeded your advice and ordered one. I know my attitude about the burner might sound cavalier and I didn't want to make it sound as if I'm not concerned about good safety practices. Getting closer to my first brew in probably over 5 years. Wine is OK, but not something...

My reply to this brought down the website! I'll try to reply again and hope I don't crash the site this time. I'm looking into some Type CH 30A GFCI. Kinda hard to see through the tears looking at the prices. ;)

Documentation was the main one. Not sure what translator they used to publish the manual that came with it but standard 'Chinglish' would be an improvement. I couldn't find a reference to it on the current manufactures web site. Seeing the cord I had wonders if it was even proper/legal in...

As a former appliance repair person I'm not keen on adding a GFCI circuit to an induction burner. Sounds like a nuisance tripping headache.

If you mean 10 gauge wire, then yes. I thought about splitting it into a sub panel but decided to just do the easy and not over think it for now. If I move I'll just pull the socket and and put a solid face plate over it. The original wire is 10/2. Two leads plus neutral/ground.

Against my better judgment I bought this one. I'm not sure this one is properly packaged/labeled for sale in the US. No amp rating on the documentation or the plate! Even after getting it I was kind of iffy about it but finally plugged it in and I'll say it works and boiled a few 'unmeasured'...

I've moved and haven't brewed in a while. I've been looking at this. It says it takes a 10.5 inch pot and there looks to be a raised lip around the edge that my pot would sit on. This hasn't been a problem?
