I have the M&B and have had the same conundrum. If I take a gravity reading before pulling up the malt pipe it is somewhere between 7-10 points higher than after I lift the malt pipe. I’ve tried taking sample from the top of the mash, the middle of the grain bed, straight from the spigot, off...
I’m definitely considering it for the “lighter” items if you’re willing to pay shipping. If this goes another week or so with no other inquiries, I’ll reach back out to see if you’re still interested.

Not fully ready to name names yet... this latest company I’ve had positive experiences in the past and they have a good reputation so I’m hoping they can make it right before I fully lose my ****. But I’ve heard of some similar grumbling of the same sort with this company as of late after having...
Anyone else having issues with the online homebrew retailers as of late? It seems like every time I place an order lately it either arrives missing something, with an incorrect component, outside of the 2 day guarantee window, or something isn’t in stock. And then the customer service experience...
My unit came today. after looking at it in person, I don’t think throwing them right in the kettle is an option. The outlet for the pump sits in the bottom so hop particulate would easily get sucked in and clog.
I got version with the pump built in so hop spider is probably a good investment. I’m excited to use the pump and be able to recirculate and whirlpool.
I bought one of these units yesterday. I was wondering what everyone does for their hop additions. Do you need a hop spider or hop bags? Or can you throw your hops right in? I’ve read some other things about similar units requires some sort of filtering for hops. Just curious to see what other...
That’s unfortunate because there doesn’t seem to be too many around. If you go on the AHA website you can search clubs and I think there’s a third club in the area called the Mid-Hudson valley homebrew club or something along those lines. But there was only a phone number. No email, Facebook...
Not sure how long ago you tried. But I had gone into Pantano’s in June or July to pick up supplies for the first time and if I remember correctly Jerry told me the guy that was running the club was moving away. I also posted this on reddit and got some good responses about the Hudson Valley...
I live In Staatsburg/Hyde Park, NY and I caught the bug about 6 months ago. And when I say caught the bug, I mean this hobby has completely consumed my interests. All day at work I’m listening to various podcasts and once I’m home I’m thumbing through the various forums. I’ve been posting and...
I live in Staatsburg/Hyde Park, NY and I’m looking to connect with some homebrewers in my area. I know there’s a couple clubs in the area but I’m: 1) not sure I’m ready to commit myself to a club and 2) not sure which would be the best fit. The online community is great and I’ve gotten plenty...
