i'm having a similar problem. i have a swamp cooler system setup but i just can't rotate the bottles fast enough to keep the temp down. it's at around 78F right now (after about 14 days of 62-65F) and the initial fermentation is done.
i was going to try and...
one of my buddies works there, so i got one of the magic pink bracelets (free food and drink all day.)
it was a total mess though.
at one point i was standing in the middle of the crowd and some dude asked me if i was in the line for the atm. i was like...where the f**k is the atm?
thanks, guys.
i'd have another hydrometer by now, but it's just such a pain to get to my lhbs (~1 hour each way on public transportation) that i save my trips for when i need a bunch of stuff...or at least more than one thing.
i'll just keep it at 70 for a couple more days and then rack to keg.
hi, all.
being the idiot that i am, i totally busted my hydrometer about 2 seconds before i was going to take my og reading.
so i've had a pretty generic apa hangin out in primary for 3 weeks in my swamp cooler between 62-66 degrees on nottingham yeast.
before work the other day, i...
i'm dry hopping in the keg, so i went with plugs (as per advice from my lhbs)
and they didn't have any piney hops in plugs, so i just went with cascade. i'm sure it'll be fine. citrus might go better in the summer anyway.
thanks again for the help, guys.
after a bit of thought, i think i'm going to save my millennium for next ipa/apa.
any advice on a good dry hop that would give me a more pine smell/taste?
what are your favs, and what flavor/aroma profiles do they give?
thanks again.
hi all.
i have an apa that's in it's third week of primary, and plan on racking to a corny next week.
i'm going to go with the hop bag in the corny, floating with a cork.
my question is how high is too high and alpha% when dry hopping in a keg?
i have 2 ozs of millennium plugs that...
one thing i do with my clogged funnel is just use my stirring spoon to scrape back and forth along the screen.
sorta pull the gunk to the walls of the funnel and the wort can get through. once it's through, i scoop the hoppy gunk out and into a bowl or something. this also helps aerate the wort...
