So as I was preparing my must, my two year old got a hold of my hydrometer before I could get a reading. Would anyone know an approximate gravity for 12 lbs. honey and 5 gallons of water? (6gal total)
I'm getting ready to bottle my first batches of mead. I've got crown caps for beer bottles and some corks for a few wine bottles. Do I need to do anything to prep the corks and caps for bottling?

This sounds amazing! What would be suggested as portion amount for a 1 gal batch (that's the only size carboys I have at the moment, at least till I get things going and figured out)?
