I brewed a tripel yesterday, here was the kit I used: http://www.greatfermentations.com/downloads/instructions/beerkits/Trippple End-AllGrain.pdf

I boiled then threw it all through a chiller and into the fermenter directly.

Pitched it with a 2L starter with two dry packs of yeast.

Woke up this morning to the attached image. The airlock was going crazy, 1.5 - 2 bubbles a second. There is no trub at the bottom of the carboy, what is happening here? Fermentation going so rapidly it's keeping the trub from settling? Is this going to affect the taste?

You're making beer. :)

You are right, the active yeasties are stirring everything up. Once things settle down, the goop will begin to settle out.

Looks normal to me.

My beers always look....unappetizing during active fermentation. I'll bet if you look closely--use a small flashlight to help--what you'll see is a maelstrom of yeast going on in there.

This is the first time in probably 2 dozen brews this has happened. I just brewed one today that is fermenting nicely but all the trub is sitting at the bottom!

At least it's normal and I didn't mess something up lol, thanks everyone :)
