First you will need a couple things:
Inkscape is a free open-source graphics program.

Beer Labelizer premium membership for $5.00.
hbt-jinks-2-1434.jpg

In Labelizer pick the label and color you prefer delete all the text and upload your preferred art.
When you have the artwork in place satisfactorily save it as a jpeg.

Install inkscape and start the program.
You should see this:

In Inkscape click File, Open, and direct it to the location of the saved jpeg from labelizer.
When prompted pick embed and click OK.

You should now see your saved file inside of the inkscape program.

Along the left side is the letter "A" this indicates that you wish to add text.
Click on the "A" .
Choose your favorite font from the dropdown menu directly below the File selection. Free fonts can be found with a quick search. I found most of the fonts that I use here. Dragon Tribe is what I will use as an example today plus my standard Celtic narrow.
Pick the approximate location you would like the text to appear. Click and drag within the picture to create a text box, and choose you color from the selections along the bottom.
Type in beer name, don't worry if it isn't in the exact correct spot, or it is a little large/small. If it is way to big or small you can enlarge or shrink by choosing font size by number. Located to the right of the font style drop down box.

At the top of the tools on the left side is a pointer arrow click on this.
Control arrows will appear around your text.
hbt-jinks-8-1440.jpg

Click and hold in the text will allow you to move the entire text box and you can use the arrows to resize and or reposition the text.
hbt-jinks-9-1441.jpg

Repeat along the bottom and anywhere else you desire text and your finished.

Save as .png or print as needed.

Be sure to save it as an svg as well, so you can easily edit the text and make a new label later! If you just save as a png, the text will be part of the picture, and you will not be able to edit it. Then you can re-open the svg next time, edit the text, and export another png as a new label. You can save as a png by using File>Export Bitmap.
Inkscape is a really nice program, but does have a bit of a learning curve. But it will make your life much easier when you want to edit the text on the label later.

@unionrdr In labelizer just erase what he has as a sample, I highlight all the text in each line and hit delete.

So I see It is 5 bucks for the program, what it the final cost of a label>? How do you receive them? Where are the financial details?

@aboantopick digital label has no cost beyond initial price of labelizer membership. I print my own so cost per label is minimal. Used to get them printed on avery mailing label paper at office depot for 6 dollars per 60 labels.

@LabRatBrewer at the top right of inkscape is the option to select horizontal or vertical while typing text. Also after typing if you want all the text sideways click on the arrow and there are options right under the File menu to rotate. If you hover the mouse pointer over each icon it will self identify what it is for.

Long time BeerLabelizer user here!
You can also load the label into a graphics program and modify the colors to your liking. Gives you a little more variety!
I'm a Mac user. I recommend Pixelmator for color editing. You could also use the free program GIMP for Mac or PC. Here's some samples:

The ones on the left are original, the ones on the right are colorized. The first one, using the "Hue" Color Adjustment, the second using the "Replace Color" Color Adjustment in Pixelmator.

I was a beer Labelizer fan, and a $5.00 member. But I haven't been able to use the program since they changed the password procedure, and the owners are not responding to email requests.
Is there anything out there similar to Labeler that I could use in its stead ?
Bob

I just paid the $5 for their pro membership and have not been sent any password for my newly created account. I have sent them an email asking for some help. Will see what happens. Fingers crossed
