Belgian wit Wyeast. 1L starter for a blue moon clone. Can't brew until Friday, started it yesterday. Ok to put in fridge tonight until Friday? OI figured it was, but wanted to make sure. Thx!

Just let it go at room temp. A Tues. through Friday starter is perfect. If you refrigerate it, you essentially have a 24 hour starter because the cold temps will arrest the fermentation. Let it run!

It depends.

If it's stir plate starter, you'll want to run it 15-20 hrs, stick it in the fridge to cold crash until brew day, and then decant the starter beer off before letting it warm up a couple of hours to pitch.

Simple starters take a bit longer. Do what JonM says for that.

It has been on a stirplate for around 26 hours. You recommend cold crashing now until Friday?

On a stirplate, do what BigFloyd says. Sounds like you're in good shape!

The above is great advice. I've had a starter sit in the fridge for over a week because life got in the way of a brewday. After letting it warm up then pitching I had activity within 12 hours.
