I am brewing some small (1-2 gallon) test batches using liquid yeast. I am trying to figure out the best way to get the required number of cells. I am looking for 40-80 billion cells. I know that I don't need to make a starter based on cell counts, but I like to use my yeast a few times.
What size starter should I be making to try to get a few pitches worth and something to rebuild off for a second round of test batches?
