I am looking to get some info about yeast energizer. I have not used this before. I will be brewing an imperial stout shortly and thought adding some of this would be good. I was wondering if there are any cons in using this stuff and how much should I add? I was thinking I would add it at flame out or when I pitch the yeast, would these options be ok?

I use Wyeast Nutrient Blend. I have only forgotten it a couple of times and did not notice any difference so I cannot say how well they work.

If you use some just read the directions and use the amount and add when directed. I think some are different than others. I am sure the amounts used is different brand to brand.

I just figure with a big beer I will add some to test out. I am just wondering if there are any negative affects

Good aeration/oxygenation is probably most important for high gravity beer, as well a healthy yeast pitch. Most nutrients are in the wort already, but I always add a little bit (1/4 tsp / 5 gallons) of a mix of DAP and Epsom salt.
