Has anyone ever seen this? I racked a IBA out of Primary last night and this is the first time that I've seen a Yeast Cake that wasn't consolidated. It looked more like curds and not solid at all. This is my 8th batch and the only thing that I did different this time was Use a Wort Chiller (immersion) and use Irish moss and a Yeast Starter. It tasted great when I racked to Keg and was the clearest of all of my batches that I've brewed. Anyone seen this before?

Yep. Yeast is a strange ranger. Sometimes the cake looks like swiss cheese, sometimes like cottage cheese and many times like curdled milk. Tis all good.

Perfect.. I was in full swing of exercising RDWHAHB.. just curious more than anything. Now all I have to do is let that 7.2% India Black Ale get carbed. Thanks!
