Wyeast Smack Pack on Hold?

I activated a Wyeast pack this afternoon with the idea that I would get around to brewing. Unfortunately life happened and I won't get to cook it up tonight. If i stick this in the fridge will it be Ok to warm up again for one night later this week?

Do you have any DME sitting around?

You could brew up a quick starter for it.


That would make it ready for a night this week...I'm a big fan of starters now.

+1 to the starter.

I just started making them. I've used them in my last two batches and both have signs of active fermentation in under 6 hours.

I just had two smack packs that I had smacked well over a month ago sitting in my fridge since then. This past Thursday night I opened them up and put them in a small starter... they started up within hours and fermented out by Friday morning. You will have no problem.
