Will they come back

I planted some rhizomes at the beginning of the season. I live in a hot climate so I didn't know what to expect. I believe because of the heat wave (which it got up to 118f) the hop plants vines have died.
My question is: if I keep the roots watered will they come back next year?

Most likely you should be writing a eulogy for those rhizomes. If your bines have died back already then those rhizomes probably haven't had enough time to grow an extensive root system to sustain them until next year.
