Wild Yeast From Boogers

Hello all,

I'm just starting to learn about yeast and fermentation. It's an odd, gross, but serious question. It may not be necessary, but with wild yeast being airborne, could you acquire wild yeast from your boogers? Any thoughts? Thank you.

Why not? It's in the air, your nose probably collects a lot.
I know it's not the norm, but it would work, wouldn't it?

I'm sure it's possible. I mean it would take some work to isolate sacc. out of all the streptococcus and what not.

I flush starsan through my nostrils before doing a farmer's blow into my wort for my Booger IPA to prevent exactly this problem.

My girlfriend works at the local hospital and the morgue is right next to her office, I can probably get her to hide a sponge in there if and retrieve it if you want some wild yeast from human bodies.
Or how about the next time I see a dead deer on the side of the road I'll chop off its nose and you can get some yeast boogers from that?
