I had this unit custom manufactured for culturing yeast and bacteria. I replaced the mixing arm with a y-connection to allow for non-mechanical agitation of the fermentation broth--this will allow for the cultivation of organisms that are hindered by mechanical agitation (eg. bacteria). A peristaltic pump is recommended for recirculating the fermentation broth. An extra entry port for nutrients or pH control was installed, and a tube off of the gas-in for better oxygen or other gas transfer.

This unit is brand-new and unused. The original cost was over $2,000 after the addition of tri-clamp fittings and custom welding by Sabco.

$1,700 or best offer. The unit is in Maine, but if you live on the east coast, I can drive a few hours to meet you, or I can ship it (buyer pays shipping).

Not for me but thanks for showing the pictures. That is some serious beer porn.

I have no idea what it is, what it does, or what I would use it for.....but I want it just because it's so freaking cool looking!

(sadly, i am unable to purchase it for all the reasons above)

This is really a crazy nice piece of equipment. But it is also seriously out of the range of 99% of homebrewers, I would thing ( not the money, but the need).

I think you would have a lot more luck ( and your first asking price) if you put this up on probrewer.com or something of that sort. Not many homebrewers are doing large scale yeast/bacteria cultures.

It's on probewer. Think he's just casting a wide net.

And I must say, appreciate the post.
