I keg my beer, how long can you leave brew in the fermenter before it's considered "too long"

So I could rack off the yeast cake to a secondary and leave it sit for 6 months before Kegging it, and it would still be good?

If sanitation has been thorough. My old ale sat in secondary for over a year before it saw the keg.

Welll....42 days, maybe. A not-particularly-hop-forward brew could do well.
42 Weeks? Perhaps. Some huge beers can go a year before they're ready.
42 Years? No. Doesn't matter what it is. End O' Story...

Cheers! ;)

42 days, 42 weeks, years

Well, yes, but you are writing it backwards. Big units to small units. 42 years, 42 weeks, and 42 days. Granted, that could be expressed as 42 years and 48 weeks, but that ignores the overarching framework and frankly it would be laughable to say such a thing.
