Yes this was what I was really aiming at. I've used my 2 gallon ss pot for all my specialty grain extract batches and found that the temp stayed consistent but with such a larger amount of grain in the 8 gallon kettle I wonder what the hot kettle effect will be on the mash if at all. I didn't really give much credence to stirring and it's result in specialty grain tea but I guess it matters much more in mashing.
