Has anyone ever tossed a few oz. of roasted rye into a batch of beer before??

What were the results?

*•I'm brewing up an oatmeal porter with dry malt extract. I have rye as well and wonder if i can add it too

Thank you kindly.

there are a lot of rye beers available. I just made a chocolate rye kit from AHS. It is a german style beer.

My advice - grind it up/pound it up and put it in - use a steeping grain type method. If you don't have time to steep it, use a 2nd pot with some water. Most extract brewers tend to be partial boils. Alternativly, take some of your boil water and do the same.

good luck.
