I've been reading a lot about water and mash pH lately and want to see what others thought about my water report.

From what I've learned so far my water seems pretty good. I could use some calcium and add minerals to boost the chloride or sulfate.

Is the water good for pale colored beers? Or will I have to add some lactic acid?

pH 7.7
TDS 122
Conductivity .2
Cations/Anions 1.8/1.7

Sodium 14
Potassium 2
Calcium 16
Magnesium 5
Total Hardness, CaCO3 61
Nitrate .3
Sulfate 4
Chloride 16
Carbonate <1
Bicarbonte 59
Total Alkalinity CaCO3 48

You might need a teeny bit of acid in some brews, but other than boosting the Ca content, this is great water. You may need a bit more alkalinity for really acidic or dark grists.

Enjoy!

I guess it's not a surprise that Magic Hat isn't far away. My Randolph well water isn't so nice.
