This coming weekend I'm headed to a rare and vintage beer festival, and the selection is a bit overwhelming. They are between 0.5 and 2 oz. pours, so I can try quite a few. I'm rather fond of Belgian beers, but I like pretty much everything. I bolded things that I'm pretty sure I'd like to try.

If I were king for the day, I would try these, besides the Utopias (too many reasons to go into detail, but rarity, expected flavor, comparison to other vintages, usual cost all playing a role):

14. Thomas Hardy Silver Anniversary Eldridge Pope, 1993
2. Samichlaus Brauerie Hurlimann, 1994
3. Samichlaus Brauerie Hurlimann, 1995

7. Scaldis Prestige de nuit Dubisson, 2013
8. Gouden Caralus Cuvee de Van de Keizer Rood Het Anker, 2012
27. St. Bernardus Xmas St. Bernardus, 2012
3. Rose de Gambrinus Cantillon
9. Vicaris Triple Gueuze Dilewyns
10. Girardin Gueuze Girardin, 2013
11. Girardin Gueuze Girardin, 2010
12. Casiss -Experimental Hansenns

Awesome, thanks pdxal. I'm going to read about the ones you listed and add them to my list. I probably won't do the complete vertical sampling of the Samichlaus - more likely to try the 1994 and the 1997 to see a bigger change.

For sure the Dragon's Milk. A few years ago I was at the brew pub looking through their library beers and had the chance to buy the 2006. I was told by out tour guide that the 2008 was a little better so I bought one. It was fantastic. So smooth and mellow, full of mellowed out bourbon flavors. Sure the 2006 will be great also. (On a side note, I was able to score one of their last 2008 DM last year when I was there for Hatter Days. Saving it for a special occasion. Since then I have been buying extra bottles of DM to build up an inventory for a vertical tasting in a few years.) Enjoy the event!

That's a pretty awesome list. If you are in to Belgian style beers, you might also want to try the Stone Vertical pours. They were brewed once a year, each one specifically designed to be tasted alongside the next, and with unique recipes each year. In essence they were designed for occasions like this. While it's great to taste some of the more authentic beers from Belgium, it's a rare opportunity to find people who have multiple years to share. Enjoy the event...it's going to be tough deciding. My head would probably implode if I walked into a room like this. You're going to have a lot of fun with this :mug:

Oh lord!

I would do any verticals you can do. I would skip #12; wake up dead RIS, I just think it's a beer you'll run into again if you do a bottle share. #27 St. Bernardus Xmas St. Bernardus, 2012 for sure and 10. Girardin Gueuze Girardin, 2013
11. Girardin Gueuze Girardin, 2010.

Honestly the best advice I can offer is TRY THEM ALL!
