I want to know if attaching a shopVac or regular vacuum cleaner to one of these can be done to store hops. I do not really want to get a food saver if I don't have to. I have searched on the web but have not found anything about doing it this way. I was hoping that someone here tried this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Carl

Thanks guys. I have seen the hand brake bleeder set up before but that costs like $30.00. For that much I would just go ahead and spend a little extra and get a food saver. I was hoping a shop vac would work.

Thinking out loud, if you are stepping down the tubing of a shop vac to a small sized hose I would think you would create a pretty decent suction. Of course you might burn out the motor. Don't know, need someone brave enough to give it a whirl.
