I had my brew at 56 ambient temp, thermometer on fermenter read 67, my wife let the door open this morning and the thermometer read 78 when I got home. Bubbling came almost to a halt, is this a lost batch or can I try to bring temp down as quickly as possible?

I had 2 days @ 65, and the door bumped open in Fla and spent about 8 hours at 90F...

I am enjoying the beer now. Not the greatest ever, but not bad at all.

Did u let stay warm or try to drop temp

No.. cranked back to 60ish for another week and a half

You may get lucky, as I did, because US05 starts quickly and vigorous fermentation usually stops in 2 to 2.5 days.

Liquid yeast might have really hurt you here.

I just talked to my father in law, he left the door open when he took my son out of the room after his nap. So the temp only rose to 78 I about 1/2 hour. Does this change anything?
