So I found a deal on dark roast malt ( 3lbs of chocolate, 3 lbs kiln black, 4 lbs pale chocolate, 8lbs carafa special 3, 4lbs of carafa special 2) plus bags of hops, so now I’m trying to come up with a recipe to use them up!
I know it will be a stout or porter or black ipa, what’s out their that will use up the most grains?

Stouts are the fastest way to use those. You dont have to rush though. They will keep quite a long time. carafa 3 is one of my favorites.

I’m thinking the are 2+ years in a bag.
Not that I’m trying to rush thru them, but I also don’t want them to hang around in the brew room either. Brew a few different black beers and see what ones I like the most.

You have maybe 19+ five gallons batches there of stouts/porters. Start looking for good recipes ;-)

I loved this grain bill for a stout.

All the roasted malts were soaked overnight in strike water, then removed before heating it on brew day. It gave a really smooth roasted profile.
