Thinking of brewing a double ipa using 9 different hops. Does anyone think this is excessive or counterproductive with flavoring. Hop schedule will be something like this. Thoughts, criticism welcomed.

Lots of different ingredients will add complexity. I like to make BBQ sauce and it's easy to make a basic one with a handful of ingredients, but the best recipe I've found uses 16.

But you're gonna get diminishing returns as you add more stuff. The question, IMO, is whether or not the complexity added will be perceptible enough to be worth the effort. There will be a difference between a 5 hop beer and a 10 hop beer, for example, but will it be too subtle to be worth it? That's your call.
