Hi all....I made a 2L starter from a vial of Whitlabs and want to step it up...do I need to chill it first then decant or would I be ok if I just decant now at room temp and then and another 2L starter wort? Thanks

I would chill then decant to get as much slurry out of the 1st step as possible (assuming you have time)

You have plenty of time.

I usually make my starters on the Thursday night before my standard Sunday brew. On Friday after work or Saturday morning I put the starter in the fridge to crash. On Sunday, I decant and warm to ambient starting around halfway through the boil. If you want to brew on Saturday, just make sure you chill tomorrow.
