For the last year i have used a plug-in element in addition to my stove so that i could achieve and maintain a rolling boil in my 8 gallon kettle. (apartment brewer)
Today after collecting the wort for Skeezers Zombie Dust clone my element decided to stop working.
I proceeded to "simmer" my wort at 208F. In addition to the regular hop bill, i took a gallon of wort out of the pot and boiled it separately with an ounce of magnum for 60 minutes, and then added it back to my kettle to ensure that i got enough bitterness
The wort actually tasted good. But... should i be worried about anything else due to the lack of rolling boil?
