Ok so I've only been brewing for a short time but I am totally obsessed. I mean I love it! Unfortunately I have noticed a slight problem, there are no supply stores for at least 90 miles. This doesn't make much sense considering my community is a fair sized college (about 130,000) town with at least two home brewing orgs.My question: is it realistic to try the ol American dream and open one myself given the lack of one in the area?

If there are two separate home brewing organizations in your town than it sounds like opening a successful homebrew supply store could be very realistic. You will want to put together a business plan for sure and still do some market research. My husband put together a mock business plan for a homebrew supply store (at my request) for his MBA degree and you don't need a whole lot of start up cash. The biggest cost my be real estate depending on where you are located.
