I know it's been discussed, but does submerging the plate chiller in ice water have any effect?
My chiller is pretty hot to the touch, even when the wort output is 58*F.
I usually feed the chiller from a cooler full of ice water with a submersible pump. If I keep the chiller in the ice water, will it help the cooling?
Has anybody ever tested this?
