1 to 1 substitution? Any ideas? My LHBS was out of centennial and recommended Citra 12% aa compared to 11% for centennial.

For bittering or what? Citra is nothing like centennial in my experience for flavor and aroma.

All.
1.75 oz Centennial Hops (11%) - added during boil, boiled 60 min [30.0 IBU]

2.0 oz Centennial Hops (11%) - added during boil, boiled 15 min [16.5 IBU]
2.0 oz Centennial Hops (11%) - added during boil, boiled 5 min [6.9 IBU]
2.0 oz Centennial Hops (11%) - added during boil, boiled 1 min [1.4 IBU]
2 oz dry hop

It won't be the same at all..... But should still be an interesting beer. It's an IPA, isn't it?

What are you making? I think we are assuming a pale or IPA.

I would brew a all citra hopped beer over a all centennial hopped beer- if you are making a pale ale or a IPA.

Centennial is awesome with other hops Ive just never loved it as the only hop (I do like it though).

And I agree, they wont be very similar.

Yes was going to be a spur of the moment all centennial IPA but LHBS had no centennial but had citra so we will see.

Not a good substitution if you wanted the same beer. However this sounds much better to me with citra! If you like fruity citrusy IPAs then this will really rock your world.

I just finished a highly citra-hopped IPA (amongst others) - a little too fruity for me. I *think* cascade is a better sub for centennial. Should be interesting though...

The AA% is close enough to convert 1:1.

I've never made a 100% Citra beer... I did make one with 1 pound of wet hopped Citra.... But I used something natural for the bittering addition (like Magnum).

I was told Citra was not good at 60 minutes. But I never tried it.

Oh, I forgot to agree with the others. It is not a good substitution but a great hop.

Cascade is closer.
