Hey all,

I brewed on Sunday (9/22) and it went really well! Hit my target OG on the dot at 1.069, made a nice little yeast starter, pitched at 70degrees, has been sitting fermenting at 69 degrees with a great krausen for about 4 days. Activity slowed yesterday (9/26) so I took a reading with my refractometer...1.031... Checked again today 1.030...no signs of infection, krausen dropped. Tasted it just now and it's glorious...black ipa. Am I one with a stuck fermentation? I have another 1056 wyeast laying around (9/13) should I pitch it? Thanks for bailing me out!!!

Once fermentation has begun and alcohol is present, your refractometer won't give an accurate reading. Do you have a hydrometer?

Good sir.....thank you! I actually dropped my hydro last night, that's why I was refractometeringinging. Excuse me, I'm a little tipsy on more homebrew. I'm going to pick one up tomorrow.

There are some conversion calculators out there that some folks use - I've never used them and have actually heard mixed results, but it might be worth checking out.
