Starting up in Northern Illinois

About 15 years ago one of my brothers gave my father a homebrew kit. We did not sanitize beforehand and the results showed. The equipment has been sitting in boxes in my folks basement since. I retrieved it from the basement at Thanksgiving. Everything checks out and appears to seal well. Also I have been doing homework and feel it's time to just do it.

This weekend I will be making my first batch using a Brewers Best kit.
