IMHO, the requirement for manufacturers to include a warning for ALL items containing ANY stainless steel, is ridiculous. The biggest concern for exposure to Hexavalent chromium is in the manufacturing of products using chromates, bichromates, dichromates or chromic acid, especially chrome plating or chromium surface treatments. Hexavalent chromium is a real concern only if a product has been subjected chromic acid treatment, or contains chromates. 304 stainless contains neither. On the other hand, there may be some danger from items such as chrome plated beer faucets, which I wouldn't use anyway.
