Hey all,

I'm looking for a cheaper source of DAP than the general home brew supply cost. I found this at home depot:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sunshine-Harvest-40-lbs-Box-DAP-Fertilizer-GDAP-40/316885118
Sunshine Harvest 40 lbs. Box DAP Fertilizer @ $33.98.

That price is far better per oz when compared to ebay which the cheapest I could find was; Diammonium Phosphate 2 oz. @ $5.15 shipped.

If there is 640oz per 40lbs (640/2) 320oz @ 5.15 is $1,648 for the same amount? However, my math may be incorrect.

I'm wondering if they are chemically the exact same and if the Home Depot DAP is safe to use.

Thanks.

1. How much are you intending to use, realistically, within your lifetime?
2. That 40# box DAP fertilizer, is it food grade?

The cost of the 2 oz eBay offer is 15 pennies product (if that), and the rest ($5+) shipping and eBay fees. I'm willing to bet if you order a pound (or 2#) the price per oz will compute to be far, far less.

To avoid shipping charges, do you have a local homebrew store (LHBS)?
It's probably around $5 per pound bag.
