I was having some efficiency issues (I'm AG 1 gal at a time) so for my 4th brew of my 80-Acre Clone from AHS (freaking amazing duplicate BTW) I added to the grain bill to compensate. This left me with too few grains to do another gallon brew, so I thought to myself, "wonder if i can throw this extra Cascade into the mix and make a hop heavy wheat?"
here's my 1/2 gallon brew (I kid you not, I'll take a pic of the carboy)
56% 2-Row malt
19% Torrified Wheat
13% White Wheat
12% Table sugar
17.8 Columbus and 43.2 Cascade at 60 minutes
27 Columbus and 26.1 Cascade at 20 minutes
Cascade and Nelson Sauvin at 0 minutes
Cascade to dry hop
I missed my OG by a few points, those hop IBU numbers come from what I entered into brewtarget. BT tells me 8.4ABV, my missed OG means more like 7.4-8.4 depending on FG. The IBU listed came out at 114.
so, several questions:
How do you think this will turn out? this seems like a weird hopping, but it's what I had left over.
How should I dry hop this? planned on racking in the next day or two. Do I just rack right onto the pellets? then bottle after another week?
