I brewed my first Rauchbier today. 8lbs of smoked malt....smells like liquid bacon..yum.

but now all my silicon tubing smells like smoke. Can i expect this to disipate? or do i need to replace my tubing? If I continue to use it, could/will it impart smoke flavors in my next few beers?

thanks

I have done a couple things in this case. 1st I soaked the tubing in starsan. That helped, but I had to toss the starsan, smelled like bacon.

I have also soaked them in hot water and oxyclean. changed the water twice. the smell is not too bad now. I am going to do a third soak and see how it is then.

thanks for the reply.
