After some searching, it seems that this is a pretty evasive recipe that is a little harder to find than some others. I have come across a few, but i'm not satisfied enough yet to give it a go. It's that time of year and I want to do a pumpkin ale. I just finished my first all grain batch.. A double IPA in the image of Pliny the Elder, which came out great!
Personally I like a more intense pumpkin presence as found in shipyard's smashed pumpkin...but the wife likes the pumpkinhead for its more subtle nature. Anyone have any suggestions for a 5 or 6 gal batch?..(Grain Bill, Hops, what method to use to dial in the pumpkin flavor? I know that this particular beer does not even use actual pumpkin at all, just spices...[/I]
