If I brew 10 gal. of lager, can I just rack directly to keg for conditioning? Or is it absolutely vital that I secondary before kegging?

Its probably one of the biggest debates...I did 2 batches, same time side by side. One I left alone for 30 days and kegged, the other I transfered after 1.5weeks into a secondary vessel. The one I did a secondary came out tasting better and alot clearer.. I find when I leave it on a yeast cake for to long it starts to taste like yeast. I secondary every time now, but like I said its debateable. Some swear by a month primary, then keg/bottle and some always secondary. Find what works for you and stick with it. Cheers..
