Here are a couple of pictures of the 2" screw conveyor that feeds mill,http://picasaweb.google.com/kevin.ladue/ScrewConveyor/photo#5188941875307268178 conveyor moves 1/2 gallon of malt per minute. Tested mill and conveyor together, mill can crush 1 gallon container of malt per minute, conveyor only delivers 1/2 gallon measure. Looks like a drive ratio change is needed from 4-1 reduction to speed up delivery without exceeding mill flow. Next step is to make a hydrator cone for inside of drop tube to control malt dust. Boxes on floor are the remote water chillers for the glycol cooling system under construction.

Very cool - do you have a write-up on how you put this together? I'm looking into doing exactly this, except for pre-crushed grain. Any insights would be helpful!

The inner pipe is 1-1/4" type K copper, the spiral is 1/4" Od copper tube on 2" spread, soft soldered with silvabrite 100, and outer is 2" Od SS tubing. Shafts were 1/2" round stock with washers welded on 4" apart to center shaft, and outer washer is tig welded to copper inner pipe. Power is a 1/8 Hp motor with a 1-3/4" pulley driving a 4" pulley, which is the right delivery speed for the mill at the top.
