My wife's uncle owns a restaurant. He stopped by for Christmas and saw that I had a corny keg, and said, "I've got about a dozen of those in the back, we don't use them any more. Do you want them?"

So today I got 10 used pin lock kegs for free. Two of them are completely full of syrup, and three more have some in them, and they all likely need to be cleaned and have their gaskets replaced, but I'm not complaining! :rockin:

Now to figure out what to put in all of them... And to save up for all sorts of new hardware (manifold, pin-lock fittings, tubing, gaskets, ...).

Buy all the o-rings from McMaster. It will problably cost the same as buying them from homebrew stores and you'll have a crap load more of them for the future. Congrats on the great score.

I know that there's Coke syrup. I think there's also diet Coke and Sprite, but I can't remember. I don't have pin-lock fittings yet, so I can't easily clean them yet, so I'm not even going to bother de-pressurizing (if they are pressurized...) and dumping.

Nice score. I picked mine for free as well. Someone who is a food vendor at summer festivals offered to let me take their empties. Snagged a dozen, gave a couple to a couple different folks, and kept the rest :) I had posted a wanted ad and craigslist and they replied to that..

Do you have the McMaster part numbers?

Sweet pickup! If you happen to find that you can't fill all of those kegs by yourself, I know a guy about 15 minutes to your east that could help you find a home for those lonely kegs. :)

Great score!!

Here they are

McMaster.com
Item number
9452k172 - Dip Tube
9452k23 - Post
9452k218 - Lid

Wow, those are pretty darn cheap (except for the lid O-rings).

I've made links so others can find them more easily:

Dip Tube ($1.96 per 100) http://www.mcmaster.com/#9452k172/=58tqpk
Post ($2.15 per 100) http://www.mcmaster.com/#9452k23/=58tqyv
Lid ($12.69 per 10) http://www.mcmaster.com/#9452k218/=58tr0r

For comparison, Morebeer offers http://morebeer.com/view_product/18234/102291/Rebuild_Kit_For_Cornelius_Kegs for $2.95, which works out to $29.50 for 10 kegs. The McMaster parts come to $16.80 for 10 kegs and you still have 90 dip tube and post O-rings left over.

Ok here is the big list I was looking for:

O-Rings from online sources:
McMaster Numbers
Dip Tube O-Rings 9452K172 BunaN #109 Pkg 100/$1.89
Post O-Rings Black 9452K23
Post O-Rings Green 1884T27
Post O-Rings Orange 9396K24
Lid O-Rings 9452K218

Grainger Numbers
Dip Tube O-Rings 1KEZ6
Post O-Rings Black 1KEZ8
Post O-Rings Green N/A
Post O-Rings Orange 1REK1 Silicone
Lid O-Rings N/A

This is pulled from a Keg Parts Guide that is a great resource - if someone wants it Keg Parts Guide (Ball Lock).

I like using green for the gas and black for beer - it is a nice visual que so I don't get a disconnect stuck.

So where's the cheapest place to get tubing, gas/liquid fittings, and multi-output manifolds?
